About Ricardo Loco

Ricardo Loco is the project of Richard McCutchan, a DJ and producer based between the Algarve and Germany. Having grown up in Braunschweig, he has been making music since around 1995 and active behind the decks since 2002. Over that time he has shaped and hosted roughly sixty events — with the Time Club and Gehörvorgang standing out as the most prominent. His signature sound is rooted in tech house, techno, deep tech, minimal, house, and deep house — sets that are equal parts journey and ritual, long, immersive arcs that move from deep, dubby grooves into driving, peak-time energy without losing their hypnotic core.

Drawing on both worlds — the warmth and musicality of the Portuguese coast and the raw momentum of the German club scene — Ricardo's productions have landed on labels such as Level Non Zero, Bondage Music, and Chillin Records. His catalogue spans deep house, tech-house, minimal, and deep tech, tied together by a consistent ear for percussion and atmosphere, earning support from tastemakers across the house and techno spectrum.

Beyond the booth, Ricardo hosts a monthly radio show — Loco Sessions — broadcasting two hours of hand-picked cuts to listeners in more than forty countries. The show mirrors his club philosophy: a patient, narrative mix that rewards close listening as much as the dancefloor. Over the years he has performed at clubs and festivals across numerous countries, from intimate basement rooms to festival main stages.
